Fiona C. Kehoe, Ph.D., Neuropsychologist

Welcome to Dr. Kehoe’s neuropsychological services.

I am a Connecticut licensed psychologist with over 25 years of experience providing neuropsychological evaluations to individuals across the lifespan who present with a wide range of medical and/or psychiatric conditions. My practice is grounded in scientific rigor, ethical integrity, and a deep respect for each person’s unique story.

Within the child and adolescent populations, evaluations to rule out disorders related to learning, attention, and development (e.g., autism) are typical. Similarly, referring questions for adult patients involve diagnostic rule outs of attentional and learning disorders. I also frequently evaluate individuals recovering from traumatic brain injury, and provide evaluations to assess for dementia.

I completed my Ph.D. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at Nova Southeastern University. My internship training in neuropsychology was at Yale University and then my 2-year postdoctoral training was at Allegheny University Hospital-Hahnemann Division. Following fellowship, I worked as a staff neuropsychologist at Hartford Hospital and the Institute of Living for 10 years and then I went into private practice.

I have worked as a consulting neuropsychologist and as a member of interdisciplinary teams in a variety of settings including hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, and schools.

My focus is on delivering high-quality assessments that empower patients and their care teams with clarity and direction.

What is a Neuropsychological Evaluation?

A neuropsychological evaluation is a detailed assessment of how your brain functions in areas like:

  • Intellectual functioning

  • Language

  • Visual-spatial abilities

  • Attention

  • Memory

  • Executive functioning (planning, organization, problem-solving, processing speed)

  • Behavioral and emotional regulation.

The results help identify cognitive strengths and weaknesses, guide treatment planning, and support informed decision-making for patients, families, and healthcare providers.

What Does the Evaluation Involve?

  • A clinical interview to understand your history and concerns

  • Standardized testing using paper-and-pencil and computer-based tasks

  • Questionnaires about mood, behavior, and daily functioning

  • A feedback session to review results and recommendations

Comprehensive evaluations typically take several hours across two appointments.

You will receive a comprehensive written report that includes background, test results, diagnostic impressions, and personalized recommendations. This document can be shared with your healthcare providers or used for educational, vocational, or legal planning.
